New app launched in Meadowlands to assist learners who have difficulties in reading

School principal Maluleke said it is an honour that the school was offered an opportunity to try the new app.

MTN in partnership with the department of education launched a new app known as ‘Feed the Monster’ which aims at assisting learners who have difficulties in reading at Tlhokomelo Remedial School based in Meadowlands.

The school has been doing an amazing job as it is for learners who have different difficulties and in a space of two years, the schools have been receiving so much support from different departments.

School principal Maluleke said it is an honour that the school was offered an opportunity to try the new app and it will make learning easier for the learners too.


Children can use it anywhere they are to help them in terms of improving their reading skills.

Maluleke was very humbled and said that he is trying all his best in making sure that these learners also get the best education for them.

“These are my children they matter too I am really grateful for the donations that are being sent to the school as on June 12 the Department of Social Development also visited the school,” said Maluleke.

The new app aims at assisting learners with special needs to be able to read and have a more clearer understanding.

Feed the monster was developed by the USA who felt that this would be of great potential and need to them.

Learners and elders who were attending the event got a chance also to check out the app and see who it works.

Dr Stephanie Gottwald from the USA talked more about how the app will be of good use to the learners.
Learners will also have a chance to use it while they are at home.


Parents can also use the app.
