ReachOut, an NPO based in Riverlea hosts Youth Day at the Riverlea Recreation Centre with style.
One of the organisers Joy Ragebult explained that the day is a celebration of the youth of 1976 and today’s youth, and even though most of the things took place in Soweto, residents from the area also participated in the protests in 1976 and are still facing their own fights today.
According to Ragebult, the aim for the event is to bring the community together as there are entrepreneurs with stalls selling their good and then the youth is showcasing their talent from dance, poetry, rap, and singing.
