We asked fans about the thoughts on these game changers and these are some of the response:

Kushu Zungu said that the idea of them involving fans means a lot to them as fans.

“Being given an opportunity to select and have an opinion of how we want the game to me means a lot, However, we are not happy we all the game changers, especially the yellow card timeout, I don’t think it will work, it works better in rugby but not soccer. My favourite one is, Captain selection, I think it is a great idea,” said Zungu.

“I am very happy that now I have a voice, this will make us love our team more and support it, we are definitely going to vote. This will help us the fans, the coach as well as the players, to work together as one,” Sabelo Mhlongo.

“Some of these game changers are of course awesome and I am definitely going to vote, I don’t agree with the yellow card timeout regulation and I don’t think I will vote for it but overall, the initiative is going to create an interesting game and allow us to communicate with the coach indirectly,” said Austin Mofia.

“I am interested in the one that states that the referee must have a mic on him, because we don’t have a VAR, this is going to help, hearing what the referee is saying to players would be very interesting honestly,” David Hlongwane.
