Two security guards from SIDAS security were robbed next to Soweto Highway & Carr Street.
The two guards age 46 years and 48 years were driving along Soweto highway.
When they were approached by two Sedan motor vehicles, white Toyota Tazz and Silver Grey Yaris that also made a U-turn and stopped behind the security bakkie.
The suspects fired a shot, and one security guard alighted from the car and ran away on foot, leaving his firearm inside the bakkie and his crew.
Another security guard was found lying next to the bakkie drivers door opened.
The driver sustained a bullet wound on the stomach and right thumb finger and died on the scene.
Meadowlands communicating officer Octavia Thebe says suspects are still at large and pleading with anyone who has information to assist and come forward with it.
