Two buses and 1 tow truck were torched last night following a riot at Mzimhlophe in Soweto.
According to the Meadowlands spokesperson Segeant Octavia Thebe the riot was sparked by an electricity outage in the area yesterday.
“The police monitored the area yesterday and a case has been opened by Putco and ReYaVaya,” she said.
Thebe said that the riot has calmed but the roads are still blocked but alternative ways have been provided for motorist.
Update : Sowetomotorway & Carr Str in Mzimhlope is still blocked off, this is due to earlier protests, a Putco & @ReaVayaBus, & 2x Tow Trucks were torched beyond recognition.
