Comedy duo back for more laughs

Bring your partner to this comedy show to find out what marriage is like for other couples.

Comedy duo, Tumi Morake and Ndumiso Lindi are back with their comedy show, Married… But Not To Each Other which will be hitting Soweto Theatre on May 24.

Soweto Urban spoke to the duo to find out more about what people can expect from the show. One thing both Lindi and Morake agree on is that people can expect lots of laughter and to have a good time.

“There’s this idea that people have that this show is only for married people but even if you’re single you can come and have a good time. We are just going to be talking about the things that happen in relationships,” said Morake.

The show is back by popular demand after audiences asked for the second leg of their tour. Lindi recalls that the concept for the show came up when they were in Dublin at customs trying to get a new flight and the assistant asked them if they were married. Lindi says he replied yes but soon realised what he had done and quickly added: “but not to each other”.

The show will start with an opening set from both comedians and then Morake and Lindi will have individual turns to give audiences the male and female perspective of marriage. It will close with a question and answer session where audiences will get an opportunity to ask Morake and Lindi about relationships and marriage specifically.

The duo says the QnA is always their favourite part because of how people’s partners react to the questions they ask but also because of the questions they themselves get asked.

“I remember this one time someone asked Ndumiso how he keeps the fire burning in the bedroom in his marriage. I don’t remember him answering that actually but it was definitely one of my favourite questions,” Morake concluded.
