66-year-old woman found dead at a house in Diepkloof Zone Two

Zenzile Tshabalala the Deputy Secretary for Diepkloof CPF mentioned how the old lady was allegedly murdered before Good Friday and was only discovered on 10 May when her lifeless body already had a stench and had already begun decomposing.

The community of Diepkloof has been left shocked and distraught after a 66-year-old lady’s lifeless body was discovered neglected inside a certain house in Diepkloof Zone Two.

The Spokesperson for Diepkloof SAPS, Captain Phephi Matlou-Mteto confirmed that three men and a woman were arrested for the murder of the old lady; however, one man was released on agreement to testify.

Captain Matlou-Mteto said, “The case for murder is being investigated and three people are currently under custody for the crime.”

Zenzile Tshabalala the Deputy Secretary for Diepkloof CPF mentioned how the old lady was allegedly murdered before Good Friday and was only discovered on 10 May when her lifeless body already had a stench and had already begun decomposing.



Tshabalala said, “It is high time the community comes together, for such a hideous crime committed to an old and defenceless woman under our noses is alarming and shocking, hence we must look out for each other as a community.”

The Councillor for Ward 26, Paulos Mazibuko explained that according to the forensics’ estimation, the 66-year-old lady was killed four weeks ago, however, they are due to confirm the cause of death and the period.

Mazibuko said, “The 66-year-old lady was allegedly murdered by the people who lived around her and whom she trusted, so we are reminded to be mindful of the people around us especially the households where there are old and vulnerable people to prevent such incidents in future.”

Mazibuko added that after this incident, a stand will be taken against drug dealers as well and that the police are expected to act accordingly to help eradicate crime.
