Tutoring and mentoring programme offered at Leseding Youth Foundation

Education is the most powerful weapon to unlock closed doors, therefore, there are young people who use it to empower the nation.

Nompumelelo Mabuza (20) saw the need to establish a tutoring and mentoring programme called Leseding Youth Foundation aimed for learners from Grade 5 to 12.

The tutoring and mentoring initiative is for life channelling and to assist young people to refrain from ill-mannered behaviour and social ills surrounding them.

There are extramural activities such as chess, netball and debating in order for them to show off their hidden talent.

“Classes are for free although there are learners who pay a certain amount of fees for stationery and food,” said Mabuza.

One of the learners Oratile Motaung said he had challenges in Mathematics but he is now one of the A students.

“I am actually aimed at giving these learners a better foundation that they do not get in schools, I don’t teach my learners just for the sake of it but I teach them to have better knowledge, to make things simpler for them and for them to have a luminous future” Mabuza added.

Mabuza would highly appreciate some assistance, any form of a donation from relevant people and companies because she is running short of stationery as she has quite a lot of learners. Mabuza makes sure that she gives them meals in order for them not to lose concentration because a hungry child is a miserable child.

“My dream is to see these kids having a better future and for them to have careers that they can pursue further, and I believe that we as citizens should share knowledge to those who lack it,” Mabuza concluded.
