Hype Awards nominee ‘DonatellO’ solo project to be released this year

Musician Luyanda Loyiso Goba famously known as Truey Donatello is set to release a solo project titled ‘B3’ a project which some argue it will shift the swing of the game forever.

“I wanted to make sure Donafellows and the new fans to indulge in the music they deserve,” said Donatello.

Donatello success led him opening concerts for major international acts such as Tyga, Trey Songz, and Rick Ross. From an early age it was clear that Truey Donatello found comfort in making music.

While studying at the University of Cape Town  he teamed up with an old friend and rapper, 2lee Stark and together they worked on the TNT mixtape.



The TNT mixtape was nominated for the Hype ‘Best Mixtape award’ in 2009.

According to Hype Magazine the mixtape revealed Truey’s growth over the years, in delivery and lyrical ability, especially in the stan-out tracks as ‘Exhibit T’ and ‘Gud evening’ in which he goes ape on J Electronica and Mac Miller instrumentals, respectively.

Truey Donatello became the first South African to perform at the Zim Hip Hop Awards, while he was touring Zimbabwe Donatella said he had a new sound to bring back home.

Donatello released his new song via website on August 3 2014.

The song was recorded at The Senator House Studios in Country view, Midrand and was produced by Ricand Thadeus from Kentucky, USA.

When he was asked about the title of the song he said, “I have to make a killing. I’m saying there are going to have to be casualties on my way to the top.”

The latest project that he worked on was an EP titled ‘The King’ and consists of eight tracks.

Prior the release of ‘The King’ Donatello has blessed his fans with mixtape  ‘4orty 7seven’ which featured hits such as ‘Mid City Bop’ and ‘Oh No’ whith the music videobieng  premiered on Chanel O.
