Curbing social ills using education
"Classes are for free although there are learners who pay a certain amount of fees for stationery and food."
Education is the most powerful weapon to unlock closed doors.
Nompumelelo Mabuza (20) saw the need to establish a mentoring and tutoring programme in Naledi called Leseding Youth Foundation.
Aimed at learners from Grades 5 to 12, the main purpose of the tutoring initiative is to channel young people’s energy away from malicious behaviour and social ills in the community.
There are also extra mural activities such as chess, netball and debating in order for these learners to show off their hidden talent.

“I am actually geared at giving these learners a better foundation that they don’t get in schools,”said Mabuza.
One of the learners Oratile Motloung said he had challenges in Mathematics but he is now one of the A students.
