2019 Election Results: Updates as they come in

The 2019 National and Provincial Elections have been declared free and fair despite allegations of double votes.

The Independent Electoral Commission will today formally announce the 2019 National and Provincial Election Results.

The announcement is scheduled to take place at 6 PM at the National Results Operations Centre in Pretoria. Representatives of political parties, election observers from outside the country and president Cyril Ramaphosa are expected to grace this historic event.

Meanwhile the IEC has announced that it will receive a list of 1020 voting stations which will be used as a sample for independent technical assurance process.
In a statement, the Electoral Commission said it, “Welcomes the findings of a number of international and domestic observer missions that have endorsed the elections as free and fair and broadly reflective of the will of the people.” While the country awaits the formal announcement of the election results, the African National Congress (ANC) has emerged as a winner in seven of the already counted provinces.

Only two provinces were not completed in terms of the counting by midday today.

Even though there were reports of alleged election fraud, the 2019 National and Provincial Elections have been declared free and fair by a number of international and domestic observer missions.
