Dineo Ndlovu Hopeful For Job Creation After The Elections by Caxton Urban News 2

Despite the gloomy weather in Soweto today, Orlando East residents came out in numbers to cast votes for their desired political parties.

Presiding officers at both Evangelical Lutheran Church and Orlando communal hall were quite pleased with the proceedings of the day as there were no reports of any disruptions or arising protests at these voting stations.

“In the morning we were very busy, we worked quite progressively, now it’s a bit quiet but people are continuing to come,” said Khensane Shabangu, a presiding officer at Orlando communal hall.

However, residents echo the same sentiments of lack of employment as an issue that propelled them to cast their votes today.

These sentiments rather come to prove the burning issue of unemployment that South Africa is currently facing.

One voter from Orlando East, Dineo Ndlovu said she is hopeful that her vote will bring change, “The most prevalent issue that compelled me to vote today is lack of jobs, I am quite hopeful now that I cast my vote that there’ll be real change.”
