EFF to paint Orlando red this weekend

Political parties to host rallies as final push to entice undecided voters before Wednesday elections.

The Economic Freedom Fighters(EFF) will be hosting the Tshela thupa rally at Orlando Stadium this Sunday. Thousands of EFF supporters are expected to attend this rally which will serve as a final campaign platform for the party before the 2019 provincial and national elections scheduled for Wendesday next week.

In a media briefing to announce the state of readiness for the rally EFF spokesman Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi said they are expecting thousands of their supporters to come and listen to their final election message this Sunday.

“Sunday will just be a festival as we have for the past few months been articulating our message and manifesto to the people. Sunday will be to bring what has been the most brilliant campaign to a final push three days before the people take to the polls in May 8,” said Ndlozi to the media.

The EFF is not the only political party that will be nailing the final nail in the coffin this weekend in terms of their election campaign as the DA and ANC will be hosting their rallies as well.

It will be a numbers game as stadium politics is expected to be at play. Ndlozi is very optimistic about pulling huge numbers this weekend as they will be going back to Orlando Stadium not far from their birth place, Uncle Toms Hall.

“We have a solid support base here in Soweto and we have been here before,” said Ndlozi adding that other political parties should be worried about numbers.

The ANC will host their Siyanqoba Rally at the Ellis Park Stadium in Jozi this Sunday as well. The DA will invade Dobsonville Stadium this Saturday for their final rally as a final push to wow voters.

Motorists can expect congestion on Soweto main roads such as Klipspruit valley Road, Soweto Highway, Mooki Street and Chis Hani Road as thousands of party loyalists will be attending rallies.
