Roads closed due to protest action
Freedom Park residents burn tires, preventing cars from entering and exiting Eldorado Park.
Frustrated Freedom Park residents took to the streets this morning closing all main roads leading into Eldorado Park. The protesters have said that the lack of service delivery and infrastructure in the area are two of the reasons why the demonstration is happening.
The angry protesters also said that the government promised to address the longstanding land issue and housing shortage within the area.
Roads affected include Union Road and Main Road along the Golden Highway.
Residents are advised to use alternative routes.
The situation will be closely monitored.
