Three fake cops in uniform wanted by Gauteng police

Police are looking for three suspects.

Police are looking for three male suspects who wear the police uniform and pretend to be police officers and rob people their belongings such as Cell phone, Television, and valuable items. The incident took place at Jabavu, Pimville, and Klipspruit.

It is alleged that the suspects arrive at night and introduce themselves as police officers and then they rob people. The suspects wear green or blue police bullet vest and ask to search the house and take valuable items that have been mentioned.

According to Spokesperson of Moroka Police Station, Captain Mpande Khoza, the incident has been happening for a week now. “We are appealing to the community around Jabavu or any other areas to be careful when dealing with such incidents. Whenever they are people who are knocking at night and introduce themselves as police officers, we prefer that they should open a window instead of the door and request to see the police vehicle.

He explained that police officer who are wearing the blue bullet vest drive the marked vehicle and detective who wear the brown bullet vest drive unmarked vehicle.

“We urge people to come forward with the information because the suspects are very dangerous and carry firearms.”

“We need information to identify the suspects and arrest them,” added Khoza.

Anyone with the information is asked to visit Moroka Police Station. No arrest has been made as yet and investigation are underway.

The suspects are unknown to the police. Crime continues to be the biggest issue in South Africa and police are doing their best to prevent and fight it.
