Diepkloof SAPS still looking for a brown Toyota Avanza with no registration for alleged armed robbery

Cops still searching for Wi-Fi router thieves

The police in Diepkloof SAPS are still looking for a brown Toyota Avanza with no registration number after it was reported to be used by two men in an armed robbery of Wi-Fi Routers worth about R30 000.

The spokesperson for Diepkloof SAPS, Captain Phephi Matlou-Mteto elaborated that the case was opened after a certain young man reported that while he was driving his company’ car, a white Nissan NP 200, to make a delivery at a particular house in Diepkloof, where his GPS directed him, two armed men approached him.

Matlou-Mteto said, “We are still looking for the men and the brown Avanza after the young man who opened the case swore in his statement on the docket that after he locked his car to enter the house he was supposed to make a delivery in, these two gunmen approached him and one of them pointed a pistol to his head and demanded his car keys.”

The young man was then allegedly put in between the two gunmen in his car where he was forced to face down before one of them started the car and drove it away, that’s when the young man pressed his panic button.

The car was then stopped at some place where the young man was instructed to exit the car and continue looking down while the two men unloaded packages from the young man’s car into the Brown Toyota Avanza without registration.

The men then locked the young man in his company car, but that is when he clearly saw the colour and model of the car they took away with.

The two armed men took away with 34 Wi-Fi Routers worth approximately R30 000 and fortunately did not harm the young man.
