Newborn baby found dumped next to a passage in Meadowlands Zone 4
The baby girl was certified dead by paramedics
Meadowlands community members were left in shock as they woke up to a gruesome discovery of a baby who was dumped next to Tshinavele passage and Matseliso Secondary School in Zone four.
The baby was found by a bypasser who was going to work.
The bypasser said there was something that triggered him into looking inside the box.
Paramedics were called to scene to assess an infant.
Community members where called and also some members contacted the local police to attend to the scene.

Sergeant Octavia Thebe communication officer said that a case of concealment of birth has been opened and the investigations have commenced.
“We are appealing to women especially the young ones to seek for assistance when they come across challenges in their lives,” said Thebe.
She added there are organisational places they can get help from instead of abandoning their babies.
“Being a mother is not an easy task but we do not condone what happened especially next to a school it portraits a bad message to other females,” said Thebe.
