City parks embark on environmental awareness project to educate the public.
City parks initiated a cleaning project as part of public education and environmental and health awareness in Tladi, Soweto.
According to councillor George Basupane community members should avoid littering because it negatively affects our environment it’s a challenge especially when it rains because the waste material in the river streams blocks the motion of water which results to flooding.
The residents in the area are pleased with the project because they were affected by the large amount of water that was blocked by waste material that was thrown into the river streams.
