Malia Jourd, who is the owner said that she thought of hosting an eating competition because she wanted to bring the community together. “I wanted to try something different, something that people would talk about months after it happened. It was amazing to see the community unite and cheer one another on,” said Jourd.
Teams who entered needed to pay a fee of R50. The winner walked away with vouchers from Legends Barbershop and Caroline’s hairdresser.
