Kliptown does not have a swimming pool, but Kliptown Youth Program (KYP)’s swimming team managed to walk away with R10 000 after winning a swimming competition that was held at St Peters College on Saturday, February 16.
KYP’s marketing and communications manager, Nelisiwe Walaza said that Pimville Swimming pool allowed them to use the pool for practice purposes on Fridays free of charge.

With their dedicated volunteers from Germany, David Böning and Max Hariegel, who taught them how to swim and prepared them well for the competition, they were crowned champions.
The swimming competition was sponsored by old mutual.
