“Age is nothing but a number”

An elderly couple over the age of 70 find love and is set to wed next week.

Ted Petersen and Agnus Abrahams, an elderly couple, who are both in their 70’s has found love and plan to get married on Saturday, March 2 next week.

The couple, who lives in separate units at the old age village in Eldorado Park Extension Three met a few months ago and believe that God brought them together for a reason.

“To be honest, love just happened. I remember the day he moved into his unit, there were no intentions from both of us. I remember waving at him, he waved back and a few weeks later he asked me if we could be friends, he invited me over for a cool drink and the rest is history, ” said Abrahams.

Petersen said that finding love at an old age is very rare.

“At our age we need focus on living and being happy and that is why I’m choosing to marry my darling Agnus. She makes me feel whole. God is at the centre of our relationship,” said Petersen.



Sylvia Zacharias and Cynthia Smith are friends of the couple and said that they are very excited to witness true love. “Most people think that when you move into the old age village your life needs to end and that it’s just a stop to go to your grave but we want to show every that life continues here and that we look forward to the future, we have fun here and we have made wonderful friends that are now family, ” said Smith.

“I am so happy for them and I cannot wait to see them exchange vows. They are so inlove and giggly all the time,it’s a beautiful thing to witness. I wish them eveything of the best,” said Zacharias.
