DA to launch its 2019 Election Manifesto

Tsepo Mhlongo said, "DA-led government would not tolerate corruption."

The Democratic Alliance (DA) will be releasing their election manifesto for 2019 at Rand Stadium on February 23. The blue army members are invited to come in their masses to hear their electioneering message to be delivered by their leader Mmusi Maimane.

According to their Johannesburg Regional Chairperson, Tsepo Mhlongo, the 2019 election manifesto contains five main pillars designed to improve the lives of the South African people if they unseat the ANC from power.

“Our election manifesto will put much emphases on eradicating rampant corruption, improving the education system, land and housing and safety, safeguarding of South Africa’s borders,” said Mhlongo.

Unpacking their election manifesto Mhlongo said, “DA-led government would not tolerate corruption.”

He said if their member or government official is found guilty of corruption, DA government would not hesitate to send that person to prison.

“We are concerned about the decline of our steam education since the ANC government took over in 1994. Our objective is to improve our education system countrywide.

“We need teachers who are not politically aligned but ready to improve South Africa’s education system. We need qualified teachers who accredited with the South African Council for Educators (SACE) certificate,” said Mhlongo.

He said the DA is committed to removing corrupt police officers and replaced them with trustworthy cops.

“South Africans deserve proper housing. We assure our fellow countrymen that under a DA administration, that is possible. We will give our people site, service stand (water and electricity) and title deeds.

“That would make it easier for our people to build their own houses for those who do not qualify for RDP houses or earning over R3500 per month.

“We are against land expropriation policy. The land expropriation policy means there is no one owning land but the government. Under DA administration, we encourage a freehold land and people would own title deeds,” said Mhlongo.

He claims South Africa’s borders remain unsecured under the current government and foreigners and visitors come and go as they please.

Mhlongo said, “The fence at the border between South Africa and Lesotho is broken and no soldiers are monitoring the site.

“Under DA government, our borders would always be secured. Foreigners would enter South Africa and leave the country on a stipulated period. They would enter the country with a Visa or legal documentation,” said Mhlongo.

He added that they’ve already begun with their door-to-door campaign in most parts of Soweto and neighbouring townships.
