A partnership between two companies has enabled the establishment and revamping of a school‘s library. This comes after the school had been long appealing to several sponsors to help them put a final touch to their school’s library. Initially, the school had established its own library with the help of the SGB as well as two other external sponsors.
“The Bower family along with FNB were kind enough to help us with establishing a school library and ever since then, we had been working on adding on what they have helped us with.
“Fortunately enough the help we have received we much more than we had anticipated. The school’s library features multi-platform interactive experience for different kinds of learners engaging them in ITC, traditional reading and others a facility for a more intimate reading set-up.
“With a smart board in the centre of the library and a futuristic interior that offers the learners ample space, learners will have access to laptops which also allows central viewing through a smart board however, the traditional form of book reading will always take priority at the library.
The down side to the school’s infrastructural progress is the staff’s concern of safety as fear of possible theft and burglary that may come from the community.
“Our school like any other school has experienced break-ins before but we are confident that the private security that will be looking after the library.
“As a full package, we are very thankful to Imperial and Ukhamba for what they have done for us as this will help our school in a multitude of ways.
According to the headmaster Nelisiwe Khoza, the library will help the school in that it will help in improving the literacy level of learners across all the phases of development, moreover, this will also task both them and the learners to make reading an exciting culture that they will fall in love with for years to come.
