A comfy walk to school

Walk a mile in my shoes.

To walk a mile in another persons’ shoes is a daunting thought but the concept has found a way to translate itself in its own way and in our local schools. This very concept and idea is the driving force behind a campaign being run by an organisation called Wyzkona.

Running this campaign through a shoe donation at a number of local schools, this time around the founder of the project went an extra mile to provide more than just shoes.

Encouraging those who can to do the same, Nyanda Khanyile went on to buy school uniforms items for a handful of learners last week Friday.

“The project has come a long way especially because this is not the first time we are doing this and thinks time around there is more to it and the project is growing.

“When we first started the project the motivation came from past experiences I’ve had as a child and I wanted to contribute towards learners having a different and better experience than we had.

“I come from a generation where clothes and appeal mean a lot, so as much as having shoes is important to me, I believe t makes a difference to a learners experience at school. The campaign donated 30 pairs of school shoes to three different schools last week Friday and added a special touch to the day of our learners from Ezibukweni Primary School.”
