WATCH: A Re Shomeng dedicated to helping the community of Diepkloof

“I was in discussion with the department about the same matter and I'm looking forward to the project."

Former learners from Madibane High School who passed their matric last year won’t have to worry about many other things either than excelling in their studies after A Re Shomeng contributed handsomely towards necessities such as learning resources and accommodation.

The Directors for A Re Shomeng, and also brothers, Joseph and Jack Masekwameng were born and raised in Diepkloof.

Joseph explained that they acknowledge the hard work the schools put in and that it is just unfortunate that the public schools rarely get supported by the private sector.

Masekwameng said, “We do not want to focus only on the outcomes from the learners – we plan to go to the roots of their education and form a structure that will help learners produce great results. Subject like mathematics and science are important. If they pass well, they can get bursaries to further their education apart from waiting for help after completing Grade 12.”

Masekwameng mentioned how they are looking forward to outsourcing experienced teachers who meet their requirement to help the learners up-their-grades in maths and science.

This intervention aims to encourage the learners in order for them to attain bursaries after matric. School principal Lehlohono Molefe was just as pleased as the learners who have received aid from A Re Shomeng.

Molefe exclaimed that, “A Re Shomeng came in as the light in a grim situation. Because we always help and commit to helping our learners pass, and now they have nothing to worry about going forward to further their education.”

Speaking about the project proposed by A Re Shomeng to rope in teachers to help learners better perform in mathematics and science, the principal said that the proposal came while she was having talks with her seniors at the Department of Education.

“I was in discussion with the department about the same matter and I’m looking forward to the project. Everybody likes a winner, and you can be a winner if you put your mind to it,” Molefe said.

Masekwameng said to the learners, “Be responsible and know that if you work hard you will always have channels to easily progress.”
