Local make-up artist goes big

More and more people are maintaining their 9 to 5’s while keeping a successful side hustle, but this local woman’s side hustle was so successful, she turned it into her full-time job.
If there is one thing that Meadowlands’ business entrepreneur Thato Makgolane does very well it is discovering those subtle niches in the market place that have space and the potential to grow.
Her breakthrough was establishing herself as a beauty leader when T Tee Botique, her beauty studio was formed, then she decided to empower women through makeup, establishing a three weeks course for women interested in making makeup artistry a business and even better this year, Makgolane has introduced new courses, nails and eyelashes, which are undoubtedly among the most trending things in the beauty industry.
“I saw the gap, makeup is the in thing, I introduced nails and lashes, I mean who doesn’t want to look beautiful? So, I knew how to enhance my beauty and decided to share the tips with my fellow ladies.
“The makeup, nails and eyelashes courses not only to teach them how to beautify themselves but to also, empower them to start their own businesses,” said Makgolane.
“We are all about ‘Facebeats’ now, but it is a problem, some ladies are getting it wrong with the main issue being eyebrows. I am coming to their rescue and students will receive kits after completing the courses,” she added.
She is also planning to open a big studio to accommodate not only the students she continues to mentor but to create a greater interest in make-up and beauty.
With the new courses introduced, Mokgolane found a business partner who is as eager as she is for success. Although the main idea is to empower women, men who are interested are more than welcome to participate.
