Young Women’s Organisation has big plans for local schools

The organisation is in talks with different local schools to further find out if their research findings can be applied in schools.

After doing some intensive research on reasons behind the lack of school interest among young people, a group of young people have re-directed their business model around addressing this issue.

Titled Young Women’s Organisation, the group has found that one of the key factors to the lack of interest in schooling is because learners are demotivated.

After having found out this information, the organisation has dedicated its efforts toward providing motivational services to local schools. The aim behind providing these services is to try and change the perspectives of young people so that learning becomes easier and they can look forward to other goals they wish to achieve.

Thus far, the organisation has done motivational talks Moletsane Secondary School, Litichibulo Primary School and Mayibuye Primary School.

“The goal of the organisation is to change the mindset and to empower learners and to inspire them to do well by invoking the will to push their own boundaries so that they can do great things academically and personally.

“One of the main things I speak about is that planned projects produced high quality, and unplanned projects produce low results, thus I encourage young people to plan their life around studying in order for them to do well.

“Planning things also trains young people to do well in different aspects of life because that enables you to engage and commit to many different things in life.

“I always encourage students to avoid coming to school just to entertain and amuse other pupils, because the very same people they come to school to amuse are the same people they will be working for in the near future, motivated learners become productive learners,” said Louisa Molise, founder of the organisation.

Currently, the organisation is in talks with different local schools to further find out if their research findings can be applied in schools and if their programme will be of need.

Thus far they have found that their talks are influencing pupils to take charge in their school work and that has resulted in improvement in some learners’ behaviour and in turn, that translates to better academic results in the long run.
