Radio show in the bag for Tabz

“I’m not even close to where I want to be, I honestly see myself going global," Tabz.

21-year-old Thapelo ‘Tabz’ Motloung has secured himself slot one of the biggest radio stations in South Africa, Massive Metro.

Motloung said the breakthrough was made possible by his agency, Once Interface and added that this was only the beginning, his ultimate goal is to go global this year.

He said, “I’m not even close to where I want to be, I honestly see myself going global. These are just humble beginnings, I see myself beyond the borders of Africa.”

Moutloung said that he is not just in the media industry for fame, but for the sake of Jesus and teaching His gospel.

“I’m in the media industry for teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and showing people that it is not about religion, but about glorifying God.”

He fondly recalled his Grade Three teacher asking him to do weather predictions in front of the class and said that is when he fell in love with the entertainment industry. When he was in Grade Five, he would emcee events and school which bolstered his confidence.

“In Grade Five, they used to make me emcee events because I was so energetic and funny and the school kids loved me. I attended an event in Soweto by Lesedi FM, when I saw Twasa on stage, That is where I fell in love with radio and the art of presenting,” he added.



Motloung is currently studying public relations and communications at UNISA is a teacher at Ounce Interface, a presenter at Massive Metro and is also a presenter on the Hype Point Teen Gospel Show.

According to Thapelo, he will be conducting a school tour with other media personalities where they will be encouraging pupils to stay in school and in every school they will attend, the highest performing learner in the Grade 12 preliminary examination will be given a matric farewell outfit.
