LISTEN: Meadowlands cops thank festive season volunteers for patrolling the streets

Top cops thank volunteers.

The Meadowlands top management thanked the Community Policing Forum (CPF) for patrolling the streets and keeping their eyes peeled for any criminal activity during the festive season because of the high visibility they maintained at malls throughout the area.

Since the CPF started increasing their visibility in the malls, crime has taken a nosedive. Colonel Abram Monegi took to the podium and applauded CPF for the great job they have been doing in the community.

“It takes bravery for one to volunteer in this industry as it is risky and life-threatening. I don’t have much to say, but thank you for taking the time to come and work with us,” said Monegi.

The Meadowlands CPF chairperson, Bafana Zwane thanked the patrollers for dedicating their time in serving their community and for working with the South African Police Service in their bid to deal an effective blow to crime.

Zwane shared with the police management team that his patrollers were always on time, maintained their discipline and did what was expected from them.

The Soweto East Cluster chairperson, Richard Rangwanasha praised patrollers for what he termed an ‘amazing job’ and for sacrificing their time by volunteering and getting our communities to take charge.

He said, “When people were enjoying time with their families you patrollers made sure that the community was a safe environment for all. Job well done and keep on working and serving your communities with pride.”
