Community Police Forums (CPF) which operate in our communities are organisations which take protecting the community very seriously. The Eldorado Park CPF chairperson, Dominique Palmer said that the purpose of the CPF was to achieve more effective crime control.
“As the CPF, our key function is to solve safety problems in our community. We’re the best people to get involved because we live here, we know what’s happening, so we know what to look out for,” she said.
Palmer added that the CPF is a platform where residents, non-governmental organisations and local organisations plus other relevant stakeholders such as ward councillors and government officials meet with the police to discuss local crime prevention initiatives.
“At the same time, we’re also able to monitor the efficiency and progress our local police station is making,” said Palmer.
This year, the Eldorado Park CPF plans to expand. “I believe that together we can make this community great, all we have to do is work together. We all have different ideas about how crime can be prevented and we want to hear from everyone what their views are,” said Palmer.
Anyone who is interested in joining the CPF can visit the Eldorado Park Police Station in Extension Six. Once you get there, ask to speak to the community policing officer who will provide the required assistance.
