Scholar transport and bus collide leaving 15 people + 13 children injured

Once treated, the patients were transported to nearby provincial hospitals for further care.

15 people, including 13 children, were left injured this morning when a scholar transport vehicle and bus collided on Vundla Street in Soweto.

Several other services, along with ER24 paramedics, arrived on the scene around 7 am to find the minibus in the middle of the road whilst the bus had come to a stop against a concrete wall. Several children from the minibus were found walking around on the scene.

ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring said, “Paramedics assessed the patients and found that one man from the minibus was in a critical condition while a woman had sustained moderate injuries. 13 other children had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate”.

The patients were treated for their injuries and the critically injured provided with advanced life support interventions.

Once treated, the patients were transported to nearby provincial hospitals for further care. Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
