Over 600 suspects nabbed during a joint police operation
The operations were composed of members derived from Crime Intelligence, Public Order Police, General Detectives, Clusters and Stations.
A total number of 673 suspects aged between 19 and 56 have been arrested since the beginning of the new year, 2019, for different criminal activities.
These range from possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, possession of drugs, possession of suspected stolen properties, theft, dealing in liquor without license, murder, public drinking, armed robbery and several other criminal activities.
This simultaneous intelligence led joint operations were conducted through tracing of wanted suspects, roadblocks, stop and searches, Boarder Policing and raiding of illegal businesses.
The operations were composed of members derived from Crime Intelligence, Public Order Police, General Detectives, Clusters and Stations.
During these operations, 6 firearms, 14 rounds of ammunition, 4 magazines, 9 cell phones, 4 cars, liquor, Plasma TVs, 2 bolt cutters, drugs, copper cables, clothing and groceries, were confiscated. The arrested suspects have already started appearing before various magistrate courts around the province.
