Finally, excitement after days of anxiety [VIDEOS+FOTOS]

GDE class of 2018 Grade 12 results released.

The time that everyone matriculant has been waiting for has arrived. Department of Basic Education released the results after receiving a green-light from the council for quality assurance in General and Further Education and Training, Umalusi.

Although Grade 12 learners are able to access their results via SMS and phone calls, the culture of waiting for the results at local petrol filling stations doesn’t get old.

Class of 2018 results were released at midnight (January 4) and it was all excitement, screams, disappointments and tears of joy.

People still feel the need to gather at their nearest stations to check the results and the atmosphere is really exciting. Going through the newspaper to check if your exam number is there can be nerve-racking sometimes since the outcome is final.

Many of us believe that the methodology used in publishing these results is accurate. Meaning that if one couldn’t find their exam number in the paper it simply means he/she didn’t make it.

In spite of this, if a learner couldn’t find their exam number in the paper – they should visit their school to get the results. According to the Gauteng Department of Edcuation, it is the school that can help in correcting these sort of issues.
