Meet the princes of kwaito.

Meet Thembelihle Mazulu a local musician who describes herself as the princess of kwaito.
She is a rapper, choreographer, composer, and songwriter. Mazulu is known as Marcia Paris.

Mazulu was once signed in Western Ghetto Record. She said she is proud to represent her township life through her music, Mazulu proudly sings in Vernacular and English.

“I believe that rhyming should not be language based but what matters is the delivery, how one can share their experiences with the people.



“For me, rhyming goes beyond choosing a language I feel comfortable with. There are things you can lose when using vernacular yet there are things that sound right when using African languages,” said Marcia Paris.

She said each artist is different and have a unique definition of their personalities. How she sees herself is what influences her strategy of writing lyrics.

Mazulu used to dance for various prominent musicians but has decided to venture into pursuing a new talent which is music.



“It was great working with other kids who share the same vision as I do, it’s true when they say like-minded people always work well together,” she said.

Marcia Paris has worked with various producers and rappers like, Uhuru , AB Crazy, gp maorange and many more.

This year she got a job of being managing director and artist manager at owg, which is an experience that she cherished as she got a chance to perform in different clubs around South Africa.
