Saying goodbye to 7 years of work

Grade 7s at their graduation ceremony.

The trend of sending off senior learners in style has become a trend that leaves many learners proud to begin their next phase in learning.

Such an honourable ceremony took place at Zola Primary School where the Grade 7 learners were celebrated and honoured for the good work they had done during the year.

Their event last week was split into two parts where it began with a sending off farewell ceremony and then followed by an award ceremony.

The ceremony was held with the main purpose of showing appreciation for outstanding academic performance just before they begin their high school journey.

Asanda Tshabalala was the star of the afternoon as she came out top as the overall achiever of the Grade 7 class of 2018.

Being commended by both peers and teachers alike, many boast her calm, humble and inquisitive nature over and above the dedication that she says she has put into her studying.

“I wouldn’t say that there’s anything special or different that about me but it’s about applying what you were taught at school when it is important. I love learning about new things and that helps me learn and stay on top,” said Tshabalala.

Their ceremony began with their farewell event and then proceeded to the awards where the best-performing pupils were shown recognition.
