According to the police report, the driver, who is employed by RAM Couriers, alleged that when the receiver approached the vehicle to sign off his parcel, two unknown armed men approached the vehicle from behind and instructed the client to leave.

They pointed their firearms at the driver and s entered their vehicle using the front passenger and driver doors. They drove for about one and a half and stopped when a maroon Nissan Qashqai approached and proceeded to load about 12 boxes containing cellphones and medicines of various descriptions.

They locked the driver and his crew in the back of a Quantum and drove off. The robbers left the keys of the Quantum in the front of the vehicle. The hijacking victims banged on the back of the Quantum and were saved by a young boy, who located the keys and opened the car.

The hijacked vehicle is a white RAM branded Toyota Quantum with registration number BJ92HKGP. In an unrelated hijacking, a Cock and Shoot employee was hijacked on November 16, at about 8.15 while refueling his vehicle at the BP Garage close to the Mzimhlophe Hostel.

While he was filling up the white Toyota Hilux, he was approached by an unknown man. As he was leaving the garage, the gunman jumped in front of his car and accused the driver of bumping him, while at the same time, demanding a lift, to which the shaken driver agreed.

Before they reached the Mzimhlophe Bridge, the man told the driver to drop him off next to what turned out to be his accomplice before pulling out a firearm and pointing it at the hapless driver, ordering him to stop.

After the vehicle stopped, and both men forced him out of the car and loaded him into a Nissan Hardbody double cab which approached from the rear. The men searched him and took his Huawei P10 cellphone, tied his hands and blindfolded him.

In another incident that happened in Forbes Circle, Zone 7, a man was found lying on the pavement with multiple gunshot wounds. The motive is still unknown because the deceased’s cellphone was found in his possession and 5 spent cartridges were found at the scene.
