Robbed for not having a gun

The peak of the festive season comes along with the increase of people who intend in harming other to make money, it sad that other reported case of armed robbery is grabbing attention from our local streets.

Making references to a local case, a man was robbed in Jabulani and is now left to live with the trauma after losing his valuable possessions and reporting the incident to local police.

According to police, a call came from Jabulani Police Station last Sunday at about 04:00 after the incident took place in the morning, where the complainant alleged that he was walking along Koma Road in Jabulani when three unknown African males suspiciously approached him.

“One of them pointed at him with a firearm and asked him where his firearm was. He responded to them that he didn’t have a firearm with him and they robbed him his two cellphones valued at R2000 with undisclosed cash and they ran away.

“Later on that day two suspects were apprehended with the help of the community member and there were arrested age 30-35 years old”, said Phindile Mavuso.

Police came forth to the media and noted the fact that indeed information from the community pleased and encourage the community to continue working with them to provide justice in our streets, the suspects will appear at Protea Magistrate Court soon.
