Employers meet job seekers

Linking employers to job seekers.

South Africa is one of the countries in the world that are earmarked with its problems on unemployment, thus leaving a dark cloud on our reputation as a country that is rich with possibilities.

One of the most obvious solutions to this problem is the creation of employment opportunities that can afford a large number of people to contribute towards building their household, families and to contribute to the larger economy.

As much as finding a job is a challenge for most people, the national government along with many other organisations have partnered with the aim of creating employment opportunities.

Some of the organisations involved with the job creation space include Godisang Development along with Lulaway and the NYDA and have found a way to spread their tentacles as far as they can.

Fusing all these services into one social service is a local organisation called Former Forces organisation which has partnered with the Department of Labour and Kgodisang Development to establish a youth service centre in Zola.

The service centre has been operating for the past 2 months now, following a storage in the services they used to provide, due to some problems with their stakeholders.

Currently, the organisation has gotten into a partnership with their stakeholders and that has enabled them to open their doors to young people from around the area to come to the centre.

“Since the beginning of the year, Former Forces organisation has been operating to provide services to local young people and to former military forces, who are our main beneficiaries.

“After contracts ended with some stakeholders, we were no longer able to extend our services to the youth, but recently we have tried to get some of the stakeholders back so that we can serve our people,’ said Phumzile Maluleke.

The organisation will not be hiring anybody and want to make it clear that they are not an employment agency, but they are however in the business of linking employees to prospective employers.

They do this by registering their information on a database and that information will be given to prospective employers.
