“When I was in high school I discovered a rapper by the name of 2pac Shakur, from the United States of America I loved his lyrical content.

“He became my favourite rapper and I wanted to be just like him lyrically and to push my music the way he did at that time.

“His songs had messages in them they were not just songs, which is what I wanted to attain for my career,” he said.

Slinda said he later started writing his own lyrics it was not easy but he was determined to reach his goal to make an impact through music.

“Writing my own lyrics was not easy because at first people did not understand my vision and mission.

“Sometimes I felt discouraged, but I never gave up I continued and in 2010 people started to like my sound.

“I started getting gigs and started performing in various events in the country and outside of the country as well,” he said.

He said in 2011 he opened his first record label called SKV Records his aim is to uplift upcoming artists in the country.

“I believe in hard work and I want to push young artists I want to mentor them I want to show them the ropes and build their careers. I have a single out already out called “Faka Imali” and it has been getting a lot of recognition something I could not attain years ago.

“That is the kind of hype I want to create for upcoming artists for them to be known and for them to be able to give back to their communities,” he said.
