Caithlynn Fourie, the face of Twirl Models

Meet the face of Twirl 2019.

A modelling academy founded by Diana Robertson-Tsotetsi, who is the Mrs Africa 2018 1st Princess, hosted the first official Face of Twirl Models fashion extravaganza at the Don Mateman Hall on November 17.

Friends and family of the models enrolled at the modeling school came to show their support and waited in anticipation to see who would be crowned the winner.

Robertson-Tsotetsi said, “Classes started in July and monthly photo-shoots were held as part of the training and to grow each model’s portfolio. My girls have grown so much and it’s only been a few months.”

“The official Face of Twirl Models was held to celebrate the models’ growth and also to raise funds towards next year’s pageants and competitions.”

Eldos FM’s radio personality, Christille Arnolds emceed the event and performing artists, Malique Van Vuuren, Cailynn Watkins and Dhelmon Elie completed the programme by performing a dance and poetry number. The fashion show showcased local designers, VarietyODesigns and Samantha Maxine Clothing.

The academy founder said, “Having these designers on board gave the models a fashion show experience and ultimately a taste of what it is like in the industry and this is only the beginning.”

According to Robertson-Tsotetsi, the models participated in the fashion show and took every critique and bit of advice they received throughout the months and poured it into the evening.

She said, “They were professional and looked absolutely stunning in the designs.”

Awards were handed out to the models who conducted community work as Twirl Models vision ultimately is to teach the models to be well-rounded human beings who care for their community.

Models Malique Van Vuuren, Nerissa Rhoda and Dhelmain Ellie received awards for their community involvement and the Face of Twirl Models 2019 was awarded to Caithlynn Fourie. Robertson-Tsotetsi said that the evening was a success but that a culture of supporting initiatives which aim to bring change still needs to be cultivated in our community.

“Our girls are beautiful and positive about life. Twirl Models keeps them busy with something constructive as they gain the skills and resilience to follow in the footsteps of other women who are doing great things. We look forward to better and bigger opportunities for the models in 2019. Thank you to all the parents and family who continue to support the models. Modelling classes will continue in 2019,” she said.
