There are buckets of fun in store for all

S2BC will also treat the children to an early Christmas lunch.

The Sector 2 Block Committee (S2BC), will host their second annual fundraiser on December 1 and everyone is invited to share in the festive spirit. Ingrid Harris, who is the co-founder of the committee, said that the fundraiser was conceived to raise money for the organisation’s feeding scheme.

“We will be sure to cater for all age groups. We will be having jumping castles and water slides for the children. There will be a tea garden where our mothers and grandmothers can relax and enjoy being pampered with delectable confectionery treats and a hand massage,” said Harris.

S2BC members said that the day is about having fun in the sun and getting to know one another “After all, ’tis the season to be merry,” said Harris.

The fun day will take place at the JD Opperman Center in Extension Two, Pampering tickets will be sold at R30 per ticket and a car wash will available from R40 and attendees are welcome to bring their tables and chairs at a fee of R50.

“The idea is to have interaction among our residents, stalls are more than welcome-the more, the merrier,” said Harris.

DJ Wanted will provide the musical entertainment on the day and there will be a summer clothing and sandal drive.

“Anyone who would like to donate summer items towards our drive is more than welcome to,” said Harris.

S2BC will also treat the children to an early Christmas lunch.

“This is our jewel of the day. The children in our community are so dear to our hearts, this is all for them, we want to make them feel special,” said Harris.

“Ameen Petersen will sponsor our Christmas lunch,” she added.

S2BC would like to thank KJC hiring, Umcebe Finance and the Forum For Women’s Development for their sponsorship since the event was started.
