Learners at Melane Academy have big shoes to fill and need your help

“We urge the community at large to donate Toughees School Shoes and we are targeting sizes three to six for 11-13-year-old learners"


Melane Academy has created an opportunity for learners to be recognized well and get a platform to perform insane crazy ideas without boundaries to influence the world positively. It aims to be an agent of change in class.

On December 6, the school will host Mathematics and Science Awards at the YWCA in Dube  to honour the Grade Five to -Seven Top Achievers for their outstanding  performance in Mathematics and Science.

Sizanani Primary School learners have won best District awards and presented the District in provincial Gauteng level. Programme manager of Melane Academy and teacher at Sizanani Primary, Mbongeni Simelane said, “We want to show gratitude and appreciate our learners’ hard work by hosting these awards.
“Our learners are now ranking at provincial level in the Mathematics and Science Olympiad, the Segarona Cultural Indigenous games and the Astro-Quiz.

He said that it wasn’t an easy journey but they have made it. Simelane extended his gratitude towards the parentsand said, “Thank you so much for trusting me with your kids future without any barriers or restriction when it comes to traveling, late classes and weekend meetings.

Simelane added that without their blessing, the school would not be ranked as part of top schools in Gauteng in all the subjects he offers.

Grade Seven learner Neo Nyakame said, “I believe that I have grown intellectually and I’m confident to face the big audience. I have learned to always think out of the box and I’m not scared to do anything. Melane Academy has taught me the qualities of being patient, self-confidence and self-discipline.”
