Local entrepreneurs advised to apply for training

The other person to contact is Regina Gounden, the Nedbank provincial manager for small business and professional banking.

With the first group having graduated from the first phase of Business Empowerment training hosted by Vanwanati Business Investments in partnership with Nedbank, local entrepreneurs are encouraged to apply for the second phase of the training which will take place in November.

The training gives entrepreneurs an opportunity to be trained by multi award-winning business development coach and investment strategist Noughty Maluleke who will take the entrepreneurs into an intensive three months business training which will focus on business development issues.

According to Maluleke, the issues include business process re-engineering, code of Professional Standard, Crisis Management for Cooperates, how to draft a comprehensive Business Plan, how to draft a professional funding proposal and most importantly pricing and invoicing.

“This is a great opportunity for me to be given an opportunity to inspire and empower the starts ups with their business growth and this partnership with Nedbank has in the past year developed great business leaders in Soweto and we will continue to do that with no failure.

“The focus for this training is to link and expose entrepreneurs to their potential clients and also prepare them for the entrepreneurial journey ahead,” said Maluleke.

He said in November last year during the Global Entrepreneurship week, they gave first prize a R10 000 handsome cheque and a certificate to Nyoni Small Enterprise (PTY) LTD, then R5 000 and certificate to Sibuya TechnologiesExit (PTY) LTD and Last Prize R4 000 and certificate went to Atlehang Unlimited (PTY) LTD.

“Then this year during the State of the Business Address held at Soweto Theatre, we gave away R10 000 and certificate first prize winner to Creative Eats (PTY) LTD, then R7 000 and certificate to Nyakaza Media Solutions (PTY) LTD, then R5 000 and certificate third prize to Moth Online Media (PTY) LTD,” he said.

Maluleke said they are now looking at increasing the prizes to R12 000, R10 000 and R7 000 to first second and third prize respectively.
