“The choice to pursue music came naturally because the songs I would write would help me process things in my life.

“I always loved listening to hip-hop and growing up, my cousin introduced me to 2Pac and I was obsessed for a long time. One day I came across his beats on the family computer and I decided to put words to it,” he added.

According to Mamiane, his mother always emphasised the importance of education, and in 2012 he enrolled at the University of Johannesburg to study towards a BCom in Finance, only dropping out after realising that a career in the finance sector was not part of his purpose.

He decided to follow his dream and registered at AFDA where he later graduated with a BA degree in live performance.

His tenacity, commitment and drive to succeed earned him his first gig last year November on Scandal. Ngwato is about to shine the light brighter in the entertainment industry with his craft.

The versatile artist has also recently released his EP titled Spencer of which he said, “The EP is a conceptual project which was released with a comic, birthed from raising above personal tribulations and aiming to create change and the minds and hearts of others.”

Ngwato Mamiane is also an actor.

“Every day is an opportunity to learn and grow as an artist. I’m grateful for every step. I have a few performances lined up in October.

“Make sure you really love what you’re doing, it can be testing at times, however, the rewards are fruitful,” he concluded.
