Little Khethiwe searching for her parents

Missing child just wants to go home.

A 3-year-old girl, identified only as Khethiwe, was found walking the Dobsonville streets alone next to the police station without parental supervision on October 21.

According to Dobsonville Police Station spokesperson, constable Mzwakhe Xazi, police found the child not far away from the police station.

“Police have not yet received any reported case of a missing child and we have not heard about a missing person’s case of the same age group being reported at other police stations. That is the reason we filed a case of a child neglect case,” said Xazi.

He said the child knows only her name (Khethiwe) but doesn’t know her surname, nor her place of residence and her parents’ names.

He added that the three-year-old has been taken to a place of safety and pleaded with anyone who may have information to come forward or to contact the police on 011 983 1500.
