Gary Player made his first inspection at the Golf course.

One of the greatest golfers in South Africa, Gary Player, has made his first site inspection at the new Soweto Country Club in Pimville.

He was welcomed by Sunshine Tour Commissioner, Selwyn Nathan and executive mayor of the city, councillor Herman Mashaba.

It was announced that the Soweto County Club will become the official legacy project to the South African Open (SA Open).

Working with the City and corporate South Africa, efforts are underway to ensure that the country club becomes a top golfing destination.

Mashaba has described the Soweto County Club as proof that we are a rainbow nation and said that the country club will have economic benefits.

The Soweto County Club’s Justice Matshaya said that this will not only mean job opportunities to the community but also, it will help grow the sport in disadvantaged communities.
