Environmentorz serious about keeping Eldorado Park clean 24/7

'Keep Eldos clean'.

Eldos’ very own environmental organisation, the Environmentorz, is serious about keeping Eldorado Park clean all year round. The Environmentorz said that they are passionate about children as much as they are about the environment.

During the recent week-long school holiday, they recruited school goers in the hope of teaching them about the importance of a safe and clean environment.

Chantelle Taylor, who is an Environmentor, said that the children embarked on a march through the streets of Eldorado Park so they could teach residents what they have learned so far.

Environmentorz encouraged residents to keep the community clean.

“I am so proud of each and every one of them, they are all my babies. I admire their ability to learn and understand, we have only had a few sessions with them but they already know so much and are so proud to be what we call Eco-Scouts,” said Taylor.

During the march, the children chanted songs about the importance of keeping the environment clean as they handed out pamphlets to everyone they came across. They created beautiful environmental posters which they held up while marching.

Taylor said that it was time to recognise the immediate and potential threats that global warming poses to the environment.

“Reducing our carbon footprint through our daily activities is so important. We should not litter, we should not waste water. The environment does not have a voice and therefore the Eco-scouts will be that voice,” she said.

When the Eco-scouts returned from their march, they received refreshments and played games.

“Our children need to have fun as well, they are here not only to learn but to make friends and have fun too,” said Taylor.

The young Eco Scouts want to be the environment’s voice.
