Discussing the importance of financial literacy

Locals get financially savvy.

The people from Diepkloof and Soweto have been very inquisitive about Afrigenesis Network’s plans to take them as a vehicle to their own financial freedom, so they attended the Diepkloof Men’s Forum Workshop about financial literacy at the Welfare Center.

The workshop was a partnership between Diepkloof Men’s Forum and the people to help empower people about handling money profitably.

Afrigenesis Network’s Itumeleng Choabi presented Afrigenesis’s plans and models which are meant to help everyone grow financially and spoke about how they intend to cut costs by exercising a financial bargain for the stock by purchasing in bulks and delivering in large quantities to cut even the logistic or delivery costs.

The people who attended had the satisfaction of getting their questions answered like Nthabiseng Fenyane who was concerned about where the people’s investments in shares would go and how purchasing shares from Afrigenesis would help them in the end.

Choabi said, “The people will get dividends from the different businesses under the Afrigenesis umbrella including the Afrigenesis Bank where they will have to bank to increase the value of their shares.”

Petronella Kose from the City of Johannesburg explained that she had been in the dark all along about Afrigenesis’ Network and that the workshop may have shed some light about the organisation and its plans to grow the economy of Soweto.

Kose said, “The workshop was organised by Diepkloof Men’s Forum to help our people understand their finances more, and Afrigenesis came in to show people their models and people had their own choice.”

The Chairperson for Diepkloof Men’s Forum, Themba Ndlovu had almost the same sentiment about the Afrigenesis and said that it was rather good that the people were taught how to be financially savvy.
