WATCH: See what’s cooking at the Soweto Urban offices this Heritage Month!

Paying homage to the diverse cultures and traditions which make South Africa the unique country we're all in love with.

South Africans from all walks of life have their own unique stories to tell. These stories are shaped by years of tradition and culture which are the blueprint for our lives.

Our history is steeped in the lore of our past, rich in colour and the proud traditions of what is undeniably an unconquerable, quintessentially South African spirit of resilience and unity in adversity.

In this spirit, the Soweto Urban branch celebrated the many different cultures, ethnicities and backgrounds represented at our office on September 27.

The staff did not disappoint and turned up in their finest traditional dress; from distribution manager Christiaan Botha’s Voortrekker garb to the regal Ndebele beads which adorned booking clerk Letricia Jean-Paul’s neck and personal assistant Sophie Ndweni’s Sesotho blanket.

Each department was tasked with preparing dishes which best represented their culture and the food was a feast for the eyes.

The eye-catching traditional dress-from Xitsonga to IsiZulu-turned the office into a sea of colour and the spirit of camaraderie as we sampled the traditional dishes on offer, reminded us that the best part of being South African was the spirit of Ubuntu and tolerance which our country is in such desperate need of.
