Gracious farewell to a great woman institution

"We lost an institution".

The Leboa family bid yet another farewell this time to the family matriarch in a church gathering held at St Margaret Catholic Church led by Father Zweli Mlotshwa in Diepkloof Zone 3 on the 20 September 2018.

Among those who came to pay their last respect was the Chairman of The Orlando Pirates and South African Premier Soccer League Irvin Khoza.

Ironically exactly eleven months ago Mrs Leboa together with her family, friends and South African football lovers bid farewell to the Leboa patriarch and former PSL (Premier Soccer League) General Manager Dan Leboa.

Speaking to the congregation, family and friends Matsela Leboa second born of the family said “Daddy robbed us when he decided to call our mother to join him on his birthday.”

According to the family Mrs Leboa passed away on the September 13, 2018, at the age of 73 on Dan Leboa’s birthday from natural causes.

Leboa continued and said “It’s okay though, we are comforted knowing that our mother was granted her wish, she always thanked God that she reached the age of 70 and got to spend time with her grandchildren, but has always said that she did not wish to reach the age of 75 where she felt she would be a burden to people at that age”.



The Programme Director Rosina Ranthima met Mrs Leboa at church 15 years ago, she said, “We are saying goodbye to more than just the woman most new, we are saying goodbye to the President of Kemolo Ya Maria (Sodality of The Immaculate Conception Of Maria), a Catechist and much more, she taught young and old on how to be a catholic”.

She will be greatly missed for her strict, nice and straight talker mannerism said Mrs Ranthima. According to Father Mlotshwa, Mrs Leboa was a prayerful woman, hard worker, teacher and she new the history of the Roman Catholic Church in and out and will be remembered by those near and far he said “We lost an institution”.

Father Mlotshwa sends his condolences to the family, friends and congregation and said, “They must be comforted knowing that she was not afraid to die and greatly believed in the resurrection.”
